Adding it all up for turf
For turf (grass), you should apply about .75" (¾ inch) of water each time you irrigate to wet the root zone (a soil depth of 6 to 10 inches). The first table below shows how long to run your sprinkler system. For example, if your sprinkler number is .3 inches you would need to run the system for 37 minutes.
